Visitors who
wanted to taste traditional culinary in Kotagede can visit these several
places. They are Warung (food stalk) Es Sidosemi, Warung Bakmi Anglo, Warung
Soto Mutihan (Kemasan), jajanan pasar kue (snacks)
kipo, kue kembang waru. In addition, modern
food at Restoran and Omah Duwur Café.

Warung Sidosemi
is located for about 100 meters to the south of makam Hastarengga. Special menu
offered by this food stalk are ice coffee, ice milk, ice chocolate,, ice tea,
fruit ice, ice syrup, ice tape, ice kacang ijo and bakso (meatball) with slice
of tomatoes.

While, Warung
Bakmi (noodle) Pak Djono is situated on 50 meters from Watu Gilang area to the
south. This noodle is originally cooked by using anglo (traditional oven) with
coal to heat in. Bakmi Pak Djono usually open at nights. Warung Soto Mutihan is
located in Mutihan village. The menu includes ubarampe daun kemangi, baceman
tahu or koro benguk, tempe
keripik crushed, then poured together into soto sauce completed with grease
slices. Soto Mutihan still known as soto kemasan since this food originally
come from Kemasan village. Visitors also can buy traditional snacks of kue kipo
and kembang waru in Kotagede Market.

Kue kipo and
kembang waru can be regarded as food souvenirs when visiting Kotagede. Visitors
also can buy special chocolate from Pabrik Permen Coklat Monggo where it is
located on the eastern side of Makam Hastarengga. Instead of food, visitors can
make purchase on traditional silver crafts which is spread out along Kotagede Street or
shooping at handicraft market of XT Squre for about 1.800 meters to the west of
Kotagede Market.
